A growing body of research shows that yoga can help relieve aches and pains, manage symptoms of chronic disease, reduce stress and improve mental health and well-being. Influenced by these research findings, health care providers have begun referring their patients to yoga classes. However most group classes are not designed to accommodate special needs nor are they tailored to specific health concerns. And that is where yoga therapy comes in.
Simply put, yoga therapy uses the tools of yoga to promote health and wellness on the individual level. In the initial meeting the client will complete an intake form. With this information I’ll work with the client to understand their goals and objectives. I will evaluate and assess the primary issues that are being experienced. From there an individualized program will be developed.
